Through a variety of resources, including education workshops and local musical events, projectHERA is dedicated to building and strengthening our music community, while providing a safe and encouraging outlet for women and young girls.

Songbyrd Ladies Night is a ladies networking and open mic night organzing by Project HERA's Cathy DiToro.

DC based musician Cathy DiToro (Cathy D.) started ProjectHERA, a nonprofit for women and girls in music, with the mission to connect, promote, celebrate and empower women and girls of all ages in the local scene. Providing opportunities for femme musicians of all ages is a big part of HERA's mission, and the organization hosts monthly open mic events, curates shows, and plans a yearly music festival, Hera Fest, showcasing female talent in and around the DC area. Cathy is a 12 year veteran of the DC music scene, playing in 80s favorites The Legwarmers, 2000s tribute So Fetch, ska pop band The Can't Evens and most recently, her own original project, RoseRiot. Cathy's passion lies in connecting and empowering people, sharing her talents and art, and strengthening the community through the most common language of music.
