Songbyrd Presents

Thursday September 12, 2019

--

Two Richmond favorites are teaming up and hitting the road together, making a can’t-miss concert experience. Minor Poet will be playing in support of their new EP The Good News, out now on Sub Pop Records, and Sammi Lanzetta will be showcasing songs like newly released single “Titty Logic” as she gears up for her debut full-length out later this year on 6131 Records.

Sammi Lanzetta:

As a new voice in the crowded world of indie rock, the Richmond, Virginia singer-songwriter creates songs that could be encouraging when the rest of the world isn't; raw anthems for standing up for yourself and celebrations of both strength and vulnerability. Sammi Lanzetta's mixture of self-effacement and determination is the hallmark of her work, especially as she turned from previous time spent in bands and focused more purposefully on her solo efforts. Lanzetta’s dedication to simply being herself feels staunchly singular and incredibly inviting at the same time. And with every burst of gritty guitar, undeniable hook, or relatable insight, Lanzetta makes it clear that her debut 'For Avery' is for everyone.

Minor Poet:

Minor Poet is the brainchild of Richmond, VA songwriter Andrew Carter. In May 2019, Sub Pop Records released The Good News, a six song collection of sumptuous, harmony-filled indie rock that slyly nods to the music of the 60’s while still carving out new territory. Recorded by Adrian Olsen (Natalie Prass, Foxygen) at Montrose Recording, these songs are brought to life on stage by an incredible cast of local Richmond musicians

Pagan Reagan

DC-based trio conjuring heavy fuzzy psychy garage rock & roll. Vocals are shared by Maya & Evan, while their doomy guitar and howlin' violin battle a thunder strike of drums summoned by Mitch.
