Lem is an acoustic lo-fi joke/folk duo based out of the woods north of Pittsburgh, Pa. Comprised of Ian Compton (vocals and guitar) and Laurel Wain (vocals), Lem mixes interesting melodies, with soft harmonies, and stream of conscientious lyrics for their own unique style.
Born into a family of drummers with a focus in High School on the trumpet Ian always wanted to play guitar, but never really felt he could. Laurel always wanted sing on stage and had dreams of broadway. The two met and started dating in High school, but didn’t start making music together until they moved to Brooklyn in 2016. Once confined to only an acoustic guitar and an iPhone Ian found his voice, songs started emerging, and Lem was born. Writing songs about playing in the woods of Fenelon, Pennsylvania or almost falling off of roofs in Brooklyn, its clear that Ian’s mind wanders in many directions. Lem is currently in the studio recording for their upcoming tour with Vireo (solo).
