Sis is a serendipitous, scary and smooth combustion from San Francisco led by singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Jenny Gillespie Mason. The spectres of Steve Reich, Frank Ocean, Radiohead, Kate Bush, D'Angelo, Amy Winehouse and Fleetwood Mac seep into their first album Euphorbia (Native Cat August 2018). Over eight months in the studio, Euphorbia was born in a slow frenzy of true experimentation and joyful discernment.

Anna Connolly writes songs that lay bare a personal and often dark world of emotion. Her songs combine engaging story-telling with subdued, minimal guitar playing. Her music ranges from acoustic folk to rock in presentation, but with a punk edge in the candor of her lyrics. Comeherefloyd describes Anna’s music as “mesmerizing” and calls her “a tour-de-force in projecting the sorrows and stark management of life’s little corners into song.” Anna self-released her debut album “After Thoughts” in October, 2018. It was co-produced by Devin Ocampo (the Effects, Beauty Pill, etc.) and Don Godwin, and features a handful of talented DC artists on select tracks—Ocampo, Godwin, and also Stefan Bauschmid (Numbers Station), Hannah Burris (Teething Veils, Coven Tree), and Joe Lally (Fugazi, the Messthetics).
