Songbyrd and Union Stage Present

Sunday November 18, 2018

With the majority of New York’s media hype focused on the collaboration between outspoken Hip-Hop artists 50 Cent and 6ix9ine, it might be easy to overlook the more low-key (but equally talented) artistry of Phresher. But that’s about to change as the hype surrounding upcoming rapper Phresher has been building up in anticipation for 2018- the year of his first studio album, PH, as well as his performance this weekend as a featured artist at Source360.

Perhaps best-known for his collaboration with Eminem on his hit “Chloraseptic,” Phresher has collaborated with other numerous top industry names including Remy Ma, Desiigner, Jim Jones, Don Q, Papoose, Busta Rhymes, and Cardi B. Just over six months after “Chloraseptic” dropped, Phresher released his long-anticipated PH. Showcasing his musical and lyrical versatility, PH was received to much critical acclaim from industry critics and fans alike.

Performing on stage in New York is a dream come true to almost any artist, but perhaps more so for Phresher, a Brooklyn native, who unlike many other artists, was already making the city a better place before his career took off. Upon graduating, Phresher worked with disabled youth as a paraprofessional in New York City public schools for 10 years before pursuing a musical career full-time. He also owns his own SOBarKlay fashion line- clothing proudly “born in Brooklyn.”

Perhaps Phresher’s success and approach to 2018 can best be described by lyrics from his song “Beastmode,” one of the many get hype tracks off of PH: “Say I can’t bear to find no peace right now/this time unleash the beast right now.”

Without a doubt, Phresher’s beast has been released and isn’t going away anytime soon- much to the delight of fans everywhere.
