Monograms is Brooklyn Nuke-Wave. A Digital Rock. A Vintage Future.
Monograms is the alias of front-man & multi-instrumentalist Ian Jacobs. Over the past few years the project quickly expanded from a bedroom recording experiment to a full band endeavor. Since then, Monograms has been performing everywhere they can get feet and sound to stage, supporting international indie regulars Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Goggs (Ty Segall/Ex Cult), Sunflower Bean, Ezra Furman, Caveman, APTBS, Girl Band, DMA’s, Dreamers, Gang of Youths, Quilt and others as well as getting notable press from all over the U.S. and Europe.
Melodic threads and lucid rhythms, sewed through new-wave tones and angular riffs point the band’s approach at previous decades in college radio and contemporary DIY vibes that pull from similar genres.
The Neuro Farm is an indie rock band based in Washington DC. Brian Wolff and Rebekah Feng started the band in October 2010, combining vocal harmony with soaring violin melodies and driving rhythm guitar. They were later joined by bassist Christopher Willett and drummer Colin Diemer, who added a powerful rhythm section to the dark and dreamy sound.
The Neuro Farm draw on influences like Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Muse, Phantogram, Sigur Ros, Blonde Redhead, and Rammstein. They have produced two albums so far: Blissful Isolation (2011) and Ghosts (2014). Past members include drummer Frank Lee Ruggles and bassists Matthew Grossman and David Morrison.
