Searcher Records and Songbyrd Present

Thursday October 19, 2017

The Colonies are a four-piece band from the George Washington University who have two goals: make music and wear goofy sunglasses. Fortunately, they have succeeded on both accounts. Their antics and music have drawn larger and larger crowds over their two-year run, from small gigs at apartments to big-boy gigs at DC’s Velvet Lounge and Songbyrd Cafe. And there’s a reason for that.

The Colonies are led by guitarist and lead vocalist Pete Stevens, drummer Joey Mamlin, and newcomers Jordan Mullaney on the bass and Dylan Trupiano on rhythm guitar. The live result is a blues-influenced garage sound that combines edginess with foolish onstage antics to create an experience like no other.

In early 2016, The Colonies released Enough Thoughts for Two, their debut album that features singles “Toxic”, “Parades”, and the title track “Enough Thoughts for Two.” The album has been acclaimed by those without credentials as “live changing” and “the essence of our generation.” They are currently working on their second yet-to-be-named LP that will be sure to up the ante in all music everywhere.
