Barbaro Fines of Barbaro Fines & Su Mayimbe, known affectionately by his fans as "Barbarito", is the Director and Pianist of the famous Cuban-Peruvian band Barbaro Fines y Su Mayimbe. A native of Havana, Cuba, Barbaro brought his vision of the energetic Cuban popular dance music of timba to Peru and formed Mayimbe, currently one of the world's hottest timba bands. Describing his style as son with congo, Fines' music is a delicious explosion of traditional Afro-Cuban rhythms and elements of classical music mixed with son, montuno and timba.
Gloria "La Niña" Rivera, was born into a family of musical prodigies in Havana, Cuba. Daughter of the well-known Cuban tres player and composer of Cuban music, "El Niño" Rivera, and cousin to the famous ex-Van-Van lead singer Mayito Rivera, Gloria is a gifted musician in her own right as a chekere player and vocalist, having performed and appeared on national and international stages with such artists and musical ensembles as Chuchito Valdéz, La Orquesta de Joseito Fernandez, Los Van Van, Orquesta Revé, Son 14, Irakere, and others.
